Source: Land Registry Data

The source for the Land Registry data is shown below.

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/price-paid-data

1. It’s available as a single file, currently 4.3GB in size.  This contains data back to 1995.  It has approx 30.3m records.
2. Or you can download the current month, which is smaller at around 19MB.

The data contains, amongst other fields:

1. Price Paid
2. Date of transaction
3. Year of transaction
4. Postcode
5. Property type
6. New Build or not
7. Duration
8. PAON/SAON
9. Street and other labels
10. PPD Category
11. Record Status

The data does not hold any Geo/GSS references; these need to be imported or joined.

As a large dataset, this cannot be handled by standard tools such as Excel.
