The data I have on this site related to mortgage approvals is simply a tracker to understand how approvals are moving month by month and year by year. It’s a simple dataset available from the Bank of England.

There is no single source for this data; you have to build it. Use this link.

In the search box (includes) you can enter several codes, comma-separated.

The codes you would need to replicate this data are:

1. House Purchase – LPMVTVX
2. Remortgaging – LPMB4B3
3. Other Secured – LPMB4B4
4. Totals of these – LPMB3C8

Once you create the search using these codes, it will generate a ***csv*** file you can then use. The data is available monthly.

The good news is that the file size for all years is under ***20kb***.

The data is provided under the Open Government License V3.0.

**Note:**

Technically, you do not need the totals column and could just add them up yourself. I am looking for any discrepancies, which is why I bring it in.
